Bartender


Responsibilities

  • Prepare and serve drinks in a fast manner.

  • Greet customers warmly, take orders, and provide recommendations based on customer preferences and menu offerings.

  • Maintain inventory of bar supplies, including alcohol, mixers, garnishes, and glassware.

  • Monitor stock levels and reorder supplies as needed to minimise shortages and ensure uninterrupted service.

  • Process payments accurately using POS systems, handle cash transactions, and reconcile cash drawers at the end of shifts.

  • Adhere to all applicable alcohol service regulations and guidelines, ensuring responsible beverage service.

  • Maintain cleanliness and sanitation of the bar area, including bar tops, equipment, and glassware.

Requirements

  • Must be 21 years old or older.

  • Proven experience as a Bartender in a busy bar or restaurant environment.

  • Extensive knowledge of beverage recipes, preparation methods, and presentation techniques.

  • Strong customer service skills with the ability to engage with diverse clientele.

  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with a positive and approachable demeanour.

  • Ability to work evenings, weekends, and holidays as required.

  • Provide knowledgeable descriptions of menu items and make recommendations.

  • Take food + drink orders.

  • Ensure that all food going out is correct, correctly plated and is sent to the right table.

  • Collaborate closely with kitchen, bar and management teams to ensure smooth service and timely delivery of orders.

  • Handle customer enquiries, feedback, and complaints.

  • Ensure high standards of cleanliness and organisation in the front of house area.

  • Clearing, washing and polishing all glasses.

  • Set up tables with utensils, napkins, and other dining essentials.

  • Maintain cleanliness and organisation of tables and dining areas throughout service.

  • Work cooperatively with kitchen team, bartenders, and other team members to ensure smooth service delivery.

  • Perform opening and closing duties according to established procedure.

Requirements

  • Previous experience in a customer service or hospitality role is preferred but not required.

  • Outstanding communication and interpersonal skills.

  • Ability to multitask and remain calm under pressure.

  • Strong attention to detail and a passion for delivering memorable dining experiences.

  • Willingness to learn and develop skills in food and beverage service.

  • Greet customers warmly and interact with them to understand their beverage preferences. 

  • Provide recommendations and answer questions regarding menu items. 

  • Maintain cleanliness and organisation including equipment and utensils. 

  • Monitor inventory levels and replenish supplies as needed. 

Requirements

  • At least one year experience as a barista in a high-volume, fast-paced venue.

  • Passion for delivering outstanding service and a drive to succeed.

  • A genuine interest in the day-to-day operations.

  • Strong work ethic and a "can do" attitude. 

  • Outgoing and engaging personality.

  • Excellent attention to detail and time management.

  • Able and willing to work a rotating roster including weekends, public holidays, opening and closing shifts.
